Leaving for China tomorrow!

Leaving for China tomorrow!

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be leaving for China, arriving in Xi’an, the capital of the Shaanxi Province, on Sunday evening.  I’ll be one of the guest artists at the Xi’an International Music Festival for five days of concerts and master classes.  My recital is Tuesday night, and will include the following repertoire:  Debussy Rhapsodie (in honor of the 100th anniversary of Debussy’s death), Widmann Fantasie for solo clarinet, Bernstein Sonata (in honor of Bernstein’s 100th birthday), and Fantaisie et Danse en Forme de Gigue by Semler-Collery.  I’ll also be performing the Poulenc Sonata for Two Clarinets with my wonderful former student, Xiangyu Zhou, and will join the other guest artists for a performance of the Bassi Rigoletto Fantasia with the festival orchestra.  I can’t wait to make music with these wonderful artists and hear all the excellent students in the daily master classes.  I have loved Xi’an since my first visit in 2002, and can’t wait to be back there this coming week.  More info to come!
